SERVICES
Community Heritage and Archaeology Consultancy can offer the following services
Community Heritage Advice and Guidance
With 10 years’ experience in consulting with and working for community groups, (be it local history societies, charitable organisations, schools, universities or simply interested individuals) in order to investigate the heritage that matters to them.
I can provide you with advice and guidance on the establishment and fulfilment of community based projects. This includes not only the everyday logistics but also the teaching of archaeological techniques in order to ensure that everyone involved can actively engage with investigations.
Conservation Management Planning
In managing change within historic landscapes, there are often many features and monuments of archaeological significance as well as diverse aspects concerning biodiversity to consider.
I can offer the service of informing and producing Heritage/Conservation management plans as a tool to help pull together an understanding of firstly what matters and why; but secondly to advise on how to conserve and manage the heritage in the future.
Educational Services
I can offer a variety of educational services concerning the history and archaeology of Britain, in particular the Marches.
Be it presentations, guided landscape walks or school activities, I can provide you with an event to suit your needs.
Simply get in touch and we can discuss the possibilities.
Desk-based Assessments and GIS Mapping
Whether as part of a commercial development or as part of a general landscape or site specific investigation, I have 10 years’ experience in the production of desk-based historical environment assessments. Through consulting a number of sources that include historic mapping; aerial photography; light detection and ranging (LIDAR); scheduled monument and listed building records; historic landscape characterisations and local historic environment records; I can provide you with a concise report concerning a specific area's historical environment.
Archaeological Watching Briefs, Evaluation and Excavation
If you require a professional archaeological watching brief, evaluation or excavation to accompany your small to medium development at a competitive price. I am equipped to fulfil both the archaeological ground works and reporting to a professional standard as established by the Chartered Institute of Archaeologists (CIfA) and Historic England.
Landscape/Geophysical Survey
I have experience in a multitude of landscape survey techniques within upland, woodland and urban environments. I can carry out a survey from a level of rapid reconnaissance to largescale detailed or geophysical surveys (resistivity and magnetometry). The results of these surveys are then displayed using a geographical information system (GIS) within a digital and hard copy report format. These surveys can be used to support landscape management plans, conservation management plans or support desk-based assessments.
